Day trip to Stratford - September 22

We are so looking forward to spending the day in the company of playwright Jordi Mand! Mand is a Toronto-based writer for theatre and T.V. Her career kick-started at Nightwood years ago, when she joined us as a participant of our Write From The Hip play development program with both Between The Sheets, which has been produced nationally and internationally since Nightwood premiered it in 2012, and Caught, which premiered at Theatre Passe Muraille in 2016. Her play This Will Be Excellent was her foray into writing for a young audience and toured to schools across Ontario in 2018. Mand has also been a Playwright-in-Residence with Theatre Passe Muraille, Carousel Players and Nightswimming Theatre, as well as a member of Tarragon Theatre’s Playwrights Unit and the Stratford Festival’s Playwrights Retreat. She is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada.

Join us on Saturday, September 22nd for a sumptuous catered lunch at the home of Nightwood board member Karon Bales in Stratford, before taking in a 2pm performance of Jordi Mand’s Brontë: The World Without in the Studio Theatre.

*The shuttle bus departs from InterContinental Toronto Centre, 225 Front St West, at 10am on September 22nd, and from Stratford at 5pm that evening.
