This year’s writers are: Adeela Ahmad, Shannon Blake, Erin Fleck, Megan Flynn, Jordi Mand, Dharini Woollcombe.

The Emerging Actors program creates opportunities for emerging actors to work with established theatre professionals. Along with professional actors the emerging actors reading this year’s short plays are: Julia Course, Mina James, Patrick Foran, Nessa Trenton, Claire Wynveen, Matthew Walker.

Join us on June 25, 2009 for six fresh new play-ettes from six fresh new voices.

What is Write From the Hip?

The Hip program is a series of weekly workshops, mentoring and hands-on seminars in writing skills and professional play development specifically designed for young writers. Write From the Hip participants walk away with a reinforced belief in themselves, their stories and their writing abilities. Over a 5-month period (March to July, 2009), each participant completes a new short work that is workshopped and staged with professional actors and directors on the final night of the program.
