ABOUT NIGHTWOOD THEATRE
Nightwood Theatre is a non-profit theatre company based in Toronto. As Canada’s foremost feminist theatre, Nightwood Theatre is driven by artistic excellence, advocacy, and the training and development of artists that have experienced gender oppression – this includes but is not limited to trans and cis women, non-binary, and Two-Spirit folks.
Founded in 1979, Nightwood Theatre has created and produced award-winning plays, which have won Dora Mavor Moore, Chalmers, Trillium and Governor General’s Awards. Each season, we present several full productions in Toronto’s most beloved mid-sized theatre venues, as well as producing our annual Groundswell Festival of new works. We provide training and support to next generation artists, recognizing that those critical years after theatre training are the times that shape the theatre artist one becomes. For forty years we’ve been populating our industry with formidable talent and creating intersectional spaces that place our values – provocation, empowerment, feminism, inclusivity, integrity, opportunity, and respect – at the centre of all we do.
All participants must provide proof of full vaccination before entering the rehearsal hall or performance venue.
- For those vaccinated within Ontario, enhanced vaccine certificates are accessible through the Government of Ontario’s provincial portal linked here:

We acknowledge that we will follow all relevant guidelines set out by the local, provincial, and federal governments Health agencies, and in accordance with the Regulations established by the Government of Ontario under the Roadmap to Reopen. As the COVID-19 climate changes we will also adapt to the best practices.

In due course, we will also be on the lookout for prizes for the Silent Auction.
