Nightwood Theatre is excited to announce that we will be holding a 50/50 raffle at each performance of this year’s Lawyer Show, The World Goes ‘Round

Tickets will be sold from May 12-14, 2022 at Jane Mallett Theatre from half hour before show time until the end of intermission, when a lucky winner (who takes home half the pot!) will be randomly drawn and announced live onstage. Winners will also be announced via our website and social media channels following each performance.

How much are tickets?
Tickets can be purchased for $10.00 each. 

How do I pay for tickets?
We will also have Square readers onsite to process credit card payments for your raffle tickets.

How many tickets will be sold?
200 tickets will be sold per performance (for a total of 800 tickets over four performances). 

How much am I eligible to win?
If all tickets are sold, the maximum prize per draw is $1,000.00. 

Where does the money go?
50% of the money raised from raffle tickets each performance will go to a randomly selected winner – and the rest will be used in support of Nightwood’s Theatre’s charitable mission. Read more about our work here

    1. You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase a ticket for the 50/50 raffle. 
    2. Tickets will be sold live by Nightwood Theatre staff and volunteers onsite at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts starting a half hour before all three scheduled performance times for The World Goes ‘Round (running May 12-14, 2022). All vendors and purchasers of raffle tickets must both be physically present in Ontario at the time the sale takes place.
    3. Tickets may be purchased for $10.00 each via credit card.
    4. Tickets sales will close 5 minutes before the end of intermission at each performance. 
    5. Winners will be randomly drawn from the pot of sold ticket stubs live onstage just before the beginning of Act 2 at each performance of The World Goes ‘Round
    6. The winner will receive 50% of the total prize. The other 50% of the prize (less applicable raffle administration fees) will be used exclusively in support of Nightwood’s charitable purposes. 
    7. The three winning numbers (one per draw/performance) will be announced publicly onstage immediately following the draw.

    9. Winners will be asked to meet a member of Nightwood Theatre staff in the lobby following the performance to coordinate claiming their prize. 
    10. If the prize is not claimed after the ticket is drawn and the winning number is called out, the number will be repeated, and if no one claims the ticket with 3 minutes, a new number will drawn. 
    11. Any unclaimed prizes will be held in trust by Nightwood Theatre  for a period not less than six (6) months from the date the prize was awarded. Nightwood Theatre will keep records of the attempts made to contact the winner as part of the documentation retained under the terms and conditions of the raffle license. At the end of the six-month period, the total amount of the prize held in trust, including interest, will be included by Nightwood Theatre in the gross proceeds of the lottery event.
