Stage Manager posting for Children of Fire

Nightwood Theatre is seeking a Stage Manager for an in-person run of Children of Fire by Shahrzad Arshadi and Anna Chatterton at Prairie Drive Park in June, 2022. The project will be directed by Beatriz Pizano.

Children of Fire is an intimate portrayal of the Kurdish female freedom fighters that hosted Shahrzad Arshadi and Anna Chatterton in the mountains of Kurdistan. Co-created with a mix of verbatim theatre and first-person confessional, this play follows the journey and layered relationship across cultures between Shahrzad and Anna, and asks what is at the heart of living bravely as a woman and an activist


  • Content Warning: mentions of combat, mentions of assault/torture.
  • Welcoming applications from cis and trans women.
  • Applicants must be available for dates outlined in June. 
  • The Stage Manager will be compensated on a CAEA G House contract at $877 per week.
