Witness Embodying Power and Place by April 11th!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the launch of Embodying Power and Place this past week! With twelve artistic responses from a dozen brilliant artists to each of the chapters of the final report from the federal commission on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, this digital experience stirs up so many essential discussions.

If you would like to hear more about this project, check out Robyn Grant-Moran’s Embodying Power and Place feature in the Toronto Star “‘These pieces celebrate strength and resilience.’ The Indigenous arts community come together for MMIWG multimedia project”. This article offers a deeper look at what inspired the artistic responses of three fabulous creators – Tara Beagan (winner of the 2020 Siminovitch Prize), Yolanda Bonnell (recipient of the Jayu Arts for Human Rights Award) and Falen Johnson (host of CBC’s Secret Life of Canada with Leah Simone Bowen and Unreserved).
