Shreya Lathia and Janice Nathanson join Nightwood’s Board of Directors! 

Shreya Lathia is a Chartered Professional Accountant, based in Toronto. She is currently VP, Accounting and Reporting, at Caldwell Partners Inc and leads their finance function, which includes management of day-to-day finance activities and financial reporting. Previously, she held positions in external reporting and accounting policy and advisory at CIBC. Shreya has breadth and depth of experience in finance, including risk assessment, establishing controls and financial analysis. She combines business acumen with technical know-how to lead her finance team, and partners with C-suite and board level executives to establish organizational strategy. 

She hopes to leverage her experience to support Nightwood’s business and finance functions, as well as supporting management in identifying risks and determining responses. Shreya is a strong believer in women’s rights and has previously volunteered with Math in Motion…. Girls in Gear, an annual event designed to support STEM education among teenage girls.

Janice Nathanson has worked in social issue communications for more than three decades, helping clients mobilize change around some of society’s toughest problems, including child development, intimate partner violence, women’s health, international development, diversity, and equity.

A strategist with a PhD in Communications and Cultural Studies, Janice has been consultant and client, practitioner and academic. In the 1990s, she led Manifest Communications, an agency dedicated to social change communications. Since then, she’s helmed her own firm, Nathanson Communications Inc., creating award-winning behaviour change campaigns for some of Canada’s leading universities, hospitals, and social justice organizations. She’s also headed communications departments within public institutions. 

Throughout, Janice has written, lectured, and taught extensively about the impact of narrative on social issues and social movements, and has sat on many charitable boards and committees.
