Nightwood Theatre is proud to be a home for fostering and supporting new play creation. In our 2024/25 season we are thrilled to be assisting the development of various works including SOWWY by Celia Green; Where the Spirits Sit by Tamara Podemski, and TAR by Jewelle Blackman and Meghan Swaby.

Additionally we are thrilled to be supporting new works through Ontario Arts Council’s Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators program. In our 2024/25 season we recommended support for creations by: Alexandra Simpson and Morgan Brie Johnson of Animacy Theatre Collective, Marie Beath Badian, Diana Braithwaite, Maria Paula Carreno-Martinez, Vivian Chong, Anahita Dehbonehie, breton lalama, Rakhee Morzaria, Srutika Sabu, and Makambe K. Simamba.
