Enormity, Girl, and the earthquake in her lungs
A Nightwood Theatre production in association with Tarragon Theatre
Directed by Andrea Donaldson
September 16 – October 05, 2025
Nancy & Ed Jackman Performance Centre – Performance Hall
(877 Yonge St.)
Time stands still as Vic crash-lands in a women’s shelter. The more she tries to listen to her inner voice, the more the fractured perspectives of her personified mind clamour to be heard. Enormity offers a highly physical, fresh, and unexpectedly comedic take on a woman in her 20s seeking refuge.
Enormity, Girl, and the Earthquake in Her Lungs was developed in Nightwood Theatre’s esteemed Write from the Hip program, marking a 10-year collaboration for celebrated artists Chelsea Woolley (playwright) and Andrea Donaldson (director).

We want to make sure that Enormity, Girl, and the Earthquake in Her Lungs can be enjoyed by as many patrons as possible. Between the intensity of any play and the heavier themes referenced in this piece, we are putting in place the following initiatives to proactively tend to our audiences’ needs.
Relaxed Environment: We want everyone to feel comfortable responding how they need to during the play. We will have relaxed entrances and exits, ushers to guide the way, and a quiet zone equipped with water, fidget toys, and comfy chairs for every show.
Mask-Mandatory Show: We will require all patrons and staff to wear masks throughout the duration of our September 28 performances.
Venue Guide: Our great friends at the Disability Collective have crafted a wonderful Venue Guide for the Nancy & Ed Jackman Performance Centre. Here you can find details about how to find us and what to expect once you’re in the space. Check out the guide here.
Access Guide: We have an incoming Access Guide from the Disability Collective as well! There, you will be able to learn about what to expect from the show and specific policies we’ll have in place around the performance. Once rehearsal are done and we have a clearer idea of the show, we’ll update our website with this guide and send it to patrons on the day of their visit.
